Why Buy "Egyptian Cotton"
All our Egyptian Cotton sheets are all made from 100% long staple Egyptian Giza cotton, grown in Egypt and manufactured either in Egypt or Italy. They are single ply and of premium quality. There are a lot of sheets that claim to be Egyptian cotton and unfortunately, the descriptor can be used if you have a minimum of 5% cotton grown from Egyptian cotton seed. Most of these are manufactured in China, India or Pakistan – it is important to look for 100% Egyptian cotton.
The other misconception is thread count – often a sheet is advertised as 600 or 1000 thread count – these are often doubled threads and/or a mix of polyester and cotton. Our sheets are always 100% Egyptian cotton and have the Egyptian government approved logo. Like in all things you can get varying degrees of quality – so a single ply cotton thread may be of an inferior quality to another – it all depends upon the composition of the cotton used – Giza is the most premium and to be called 100% must be grown in Egypt.
Our pricing is based on availability on the internet only, coupled with excellent contractual agreements with our manufacturers. You can certainly buy cheaper Egyptian Cotton Sheets – however, we seriously doubt they would come close to matching our quality.

Egyptian cotton is known as the superior cotton and has not gained such a reputation without good reason. The following are some of the characteristics which set Egyptian cotton apart from other natural fibres:
-The length of the fibre (ELS) makes it possible to make the finest of yarns without sacrificing the strength of the yarn.
-The strength of the fibre makes fabrics more solid and more resistant to stress.
-Egyptian cotton is handpicked which guarantees the highest levels of purity. Handpicking puts no stress on the fibres leaving the fibres straight and intact as opposed to mechanical picking.
-Fabrics made of long staple Egyptian cotton are softer, finer and are among the longest lasting cottons in the world.
-Egyptian cotton becomes softer with each wash.
-Egyptian cotton out lives any other fabric which makes our Egyptian cotton sheets, Duvet Covers and Towels very economical, affordable and value for money.
-The long staple (ELS) or long fibre of Egyptian-grown cotton means that there is more continuous fibre to use when creating threads or yarns. This yarn is smaller in diameter yet stronger than other cottons. Smaller yarn means that more threads per square inch can be use to create stronger fabric which is light in weight yet breathes well.
-More threads per inch mean that the thread count on the bedding label will be higher. Many buyers think that choosing high thread count sheets is the only gauge of quality. This is not true; one must also consider the type of cotton used and the "ply" of the sheets. The term "ply" refers to the number of single fibres twisted together before it is woven into a fabric. Single ply sheets are woven using a single thread with long staple (ELS) cotton fibres for superior levels of quality, durability and softness. These ultra fine yarns of cotton are silkier, softer and more lustrous. Egyptian produced cotton fabric used for creating bedding products can last for decades. .
-Cotton grown in the Egyptian fields will also produce less lint and therefore will not pill after repeated washings as some materials may do.
